In September each year the Ministry of Education notifies schools of their provisional roll, staffing and funding entitlements for the following year. EPL uses this provisional information to make updates to the pay for principals and allowances for Māori and Pacific teaching immersion levels.
In March each year, the Ministry then uses your school’s roll at 1 March, to confirm your roll for the year. Once roll data is confirmed EPL updates our payroll data to use the confirmed information.
Principals’ pay rates based on confirmed rolls
Pay rates for principals will be adjusted, based on the confirmed rolls for 2024.This adjustment will be applied in pay period 4, pay day 14 May 2024.
Māori and Pacific teaching immersion levels
Māori and Pacific teaching immersion levels have also been updated based on school’s confirmed rolls. This ensures schools can apply for allowances that their school is eligible for, based on their teaching immersion levels, in EdPay.
